Son of No One, Son of Everyone
A Memoir of Absence, Love, and the People Who Stayed
Synopsis
There is a particular kind of silence that lives in the space where a father should have been. I grew up in that silence.
No bedtime stories from him. No voice to call my name across a yard. No hand to steady me when the world felt too heavy for a boy's shoulders. Just an absence so loud it shaped everything โ how I walked, how I spoke, how I loved, how I trusted, how I built a life out of pieces I had to gather myself.
But this is not a story about a missing father. This is a story about all the people who stayed. The mother who worked until her hands could barely hold a cup. The grandmother whose prayers carried further than any inheritance. The uncles, teachers, neighbours, and strangers who saw a boy without a compass and quietly became north.
Son of No One, Son of Everyone is my story โ but it is also yours. It is for every child who grew up searching for a face that never came. For every woman who carried a family on her back without anyone asking if she was tired. For every man who stepped into a role biology never assigned him.
This is not a story about what was missing. This is a story about everything that was there.
